Crowns and Bridges in Tampa Palms

A complete, healthy smile isn't just about looking great; it's also essential for overall oral health. Damaged or missing teeth can lead to problems like difficulty eating and speaking, worn and misaligned teeth, and even bone loss in your jaw.

Dr. Bart Ladzinski will work with your unique needs and preferences to determine the most appropriate solution to restore your smile. When he creates your custom crown or bridge, you can be confident that it will blend seamlessly with your smile and last for many years.

Dental Crowns: A Versatile Solution for Damaged Teeth

Dental crowns are custom-made tooth-shaped caps designed to cover and protect a damaged tooth, restoring its strength, shape, and appearance. We recommend dental crowns for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Repair a cavity too large for a filling
  • Protect a cracked or broken tooth
  • Strengthen a tooth after root canal treatment
  • Restore function to a dental implant
  • Support dental bridgework
  • Enhance the appearance of a discolored or misshapen tooth

Benefits of Crowns and Bridges

If you've been living with teeth that hurt or don't function well, a dental crown or bridge can be life-transforming. Some of the benefits you will enjoy include:
Support Long-Term Oral Health
By preventing remaining teeth from shifting out of alignment, crowns and bridges help maintain proper bite function and jaw stability. They also distribute chewing forces evenly, reducing excessive wear on other teeth and protecting against future damage.
Restore Your Smile's Aesthetics
Using premium materials that mimic natural tooth enamel's translucency and luster, we create crowns and bridges that look so natural that you might forget which teeth have been restored. This gives you the confidence to smile, speak, and laugh without hesitation.
Improve Chewing Comfort
Crowns and bridges restore proper chewing function, allowing you to enjoy a varied, nutritious diet without discomfort. The stability these restorations provide eliminates the food restrictions and self-consciousness often accompanying tooth loss or damage.

The Process for Getting a Dental Crown

We understand you have a busy schedule, and we make getting a custom dental crown as convenient and efficient as possible. Once we determine that a crown is right for you, the process involves two appointments about two weeks apart.

First Crown Appointment

  • Tooth Preparation — Dr. Ladzinski gently removes a small amount of tooth structure to make room for the restoration. He takes a highly accurate digital impression of the prepared tooth, which a trusted local dental lab uses to fabricate your custom-made crown.
  • Place the Temporary Crown — While your new crown is being crafted, we place a temporary one to protect your tooth and maintain your smile.

Second Crown Appointment

  • Adjust for Fit and Comfort — When we receive your final crown, we will carefully fit it onto your tooth and adjust it to ensure a perfect fit and comfortable bite.
  • Place the Final Crown — The final step is to place the crown on the tooth and cement it securely in place.

Bridges: A Reliable Tooth Replacement

A dental bridge is appropriate if you are missing one or two teeth in a row. The bridge spans the open space, placing one or two artificial teeth (pontics) in the gap and attaching them to adjacent teeth with crowns for support.

The process for getting a dental bridge is similar to getting a crown. We prepare the teeth adjacent to the gap for crowns, take impressions, and create a temporary bridge. A dental lab then fabricates your final bridge, and we cement it securely on your teeth to restore your smile and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

A dental crown’s lifespan depends on several factors, including the material used, location in your mouth, oral hygiene habits, and lifestyle choices. At All Dental Tampa Palms, we create durable, high-quality restorations designed to serve you well for many years.

Typical Dental Crown Lifespan

With proper care, the average lifespans of dental crowns are:

  • All-ceramic or zirconia crowns: 10–15+ years
  • Gold crowns: 15–20+ years

Many of our patients enjoy even longer lifespans from their crowns with proper care. Dr. Ladzinski works with trusted local dental labs to ensure your crowns are crafted from premium materials using advanced techniques for lasting results.

Extend Your Crown's Lifespan

Taking the following steps ensures you will get the maximum use out of your dental crown:

  • Brush twice daily, floss once using fluoride toothpaste
  • Don't use your teeth as tools or chew extremely hard foods
  • Wear a nightguard if you grind or clench your teeth.
  • Schedule teeth cleanings and exams every six months.
